Artist Statements - Photography: My photography is a result of observing nature, sometimes in minutiae, sometimes in broad expanse. As a photography instructor, I have tried to pass on to my students the passion I have for 'making', not 'taking' photographs, by keen observation, not manipulation through technology. - Mary Ann Germanson I have been a photographer for many years. My intent with photography is to capture a moment or thought as would an artist painter. My works are inspired by the Impressionists like Cezanne, Manet, Monet and Van Gogh… who communicate resolute images in a subtle and diffused manner. - Thomas Germanson At Germanson Arts, LLC our inner child determines our intent. We use two 20+ year-old Pentax K1000’s to capture our images. We work with one developer who understands our artistic integrity. We number and title each photograph then individually handcraft the final work of art with your choice of materials (e.g., foam & mat board, adhesives, glass and frame) in the gallery style framing. We consider our professional framing as works of three-dimensional art or sculpture for our patrons to enjoy. |
